The dream started badly.  You were in line with your family at a [airport] waiting to be sent to [Florida].  Everywhere you looked there were posters of president-elect [Trump?], looking like a crazy [goose] who could eat a whole [zebra].    Suddenly, there was Ralph Waldo Emerson telling you, " [ All men have my blood and I have all men's  ] ."  You realized that you have something to contribute to the world so you decided to [agree].  But it wasn't easy.  First you had to put on a fancy [shirt] and [socks] and then you had make a [time machine] to go back in ...

i probably should have read the journal topic first this morning instead of posting on my blog first. That way i didn't bring myself down and given myself a better attitude and more confidence for this test on "The Sounds Of Thunder".

I'm not prepared and I'm feeling a little insecure about the test today. I don't have a good feeling about this, I know I should be thinking positively about this subject but I'm rather feeling uncomfortable about this exam which I will probably score low on HAHA. mmkay bye

Daaammn I was procrastinating to read this story and when I started it, I though "what?" I don't fully understand what's going  on right now. I didn't understand what the words meant but then I pondered a little and came up with the idea that maybe if i re-read the sentences or phrases i don't understand I'd understand it, so I did and when I did re-read this story i thought daaang who came up with this? not only is it entertaining but it seems so realistic because of the way it is described and put together. The diction and syntax man, its used so perfectly. I think I'm gonna start reading a lot more of what Dr. Preston suggests.

Nicol presented her poster with some quotes and she announced her favorite quote ''What must do is all that concerns me, not what people think " and she explained what it meant to her.  Kleiff explained his quote by using an example which was school he believed sometime school makes us miserable and we don't need that. Robert began to explain self reliance by saying that if you don't understand or believe in yourself you don't have self reliance . Angel explained their quotes and how it has related to their lives.

The next group, Josalyn's group decided to choose quotes and explain their meanings. While the other group presented Dr. Preston explained the tone of Emerson he explained Emerson was, formal, serious, optimistic, hopeful and sincere .

I think satchel had a great example for the quote he decide to use (Ne te quaesiveris extra) in order to explain his thoughts on Emerson's "Self-Reliance". The next group presented their thoughts on "Self-Reliance" by using Kahoot-It because they thought it would be a funner way to learn. Elvis and Etzell wrote their quotes on a paper and explained their meanings.

I'm thinking about doing a powerpoint on Emerson's ideas i will use some of his quotes. I will also be using the notes I took in class while Dr. Preston read the paragraphs on Self-Reliance. I'll maybe even include visuals to show and explain a little bit thoroughly Emerson's points. I'm gonna partner up with Alin to complete this task.

10/16 I'm aware that i could have done better on yesterday's writing. I had a great resource: MindMap on "Self Reliance". This resource made the writing so much easier. I could have made more sense when it came to explaining the answers to the questions on the prompt. But, now I know I can work on that the next time I have a writing assignment. Also, I could have prepared more but considering I had way too much homework it was a little difficult. even though there should be no excuses but i mean it was a little difficult to do both.

when I first began to hear the words on this story it created a lot of mystery and curiosity in my mind I didn't believe it'd cause tension in my brain wanting to know what was going to happen next so I read and became more confused than I already was

sometimes I think any authority figure just wants the best for me or any other kid but at what cost? sometimes we lose confidence in ourselves or we feel like we cant really be who we want to be because our authority figures tell us to do what we don't want to do or be because we feel its not right for us. but we do it anyway because we want to feel right even if what we did caused us to lose our confidence, or self esteem.

I believe both ways have a lot to offer however I think if we use the new way to work with in our class will bring a lot of good effects but also bad since we deal with social media we might as well use this new way too fool anyone into believing we work on homework but in reality were just checking twitter or something. but I still believe this new way of classwork helps a lot.
